Pajama Jam 2011

Deucie Poo woke feeling rather warm and big sis had been fighting a runny nose for the couple days prior so we decided to keep it casual Sunday.  First Pajama Jam 2011.  We have been having gorgeous weather all week so when the hubs told me that it was going to rain, I laughed and didn't believe him.  Wasn't it just 70 the other day?

But when it started to rain I quickly ran outside and backed my car out of the garage onto the drive way.  What?  Free car wash.  Hopefully you don't think I'm kidding.  I totally did.

Little did I know that my car wash was the first of many productive things to happen in PJs.

Productivity example 2:
Deuce woke from a nap with a whine that wasn't her typical.  The hubs went to rescue her from her jail cell crib and called out for me to come take a peek.  I thought maybe she's played a baby form of Twister or something to get herself hollering out like she was.  Nope.  She pulled herself into standing position in her crib.  Her hands were holding her up against the wall as if she was being frisked.  What is the opposite of I've fallen and I can't up?
I wasn't quick enough to snap the first pose but the next time we came in to rescue her she was all smiles.  Oy. Vey.

Productivity example 3:

We're screwed.

And why is it that I couldn't will big sis to hit every milestone.  I always second guessed and thought that we were doing something wrong.  Now, I only wish I could slow the clock.  Once she's on the move the hubs and I won't be sitting still for at least 15-20 years.  ::::shakes head trying to release that thought::::  Anyone successfully bury their head into the sand and survive?  I want some tips.

Punky in piggies: The Snack Hostess

Meet today's snack hostess all dolled up in piggies.  One of these days I hope she sheds the baby fine hair.  The wisp is killing me.
Big sister's school is up to snuff on health foods and push all kinds of fruit and veg to the kids.  My kinda school.

It's a great that she can down snap peas by the handful.  When I asked her what she wanted to take to share with her school friends - carrots, nap (read: snap) peas and cheese topped the list.

Sidebar: I didn't realize how much we were going to love the Montessori method.  Bonus that her school runs their lessons parallel to that of the public school program so the kids are adequately prepared for kindergarten.  We love her school.  Even more, we love her teacher.

As part of hostess responsibility is to prepare snack for your friends - enter Montessori practical learning.  She and her teacher wash the veggies and prepare the snack for the class.  How awesome!  Much better than Mom picking up food and dropping it off without any ownership from her.  She loves it when it's her turn to share.

Care for some snacks?

Ignore the dusty floors and focus on her outfit.  She is fantastic at coordinating.
I love my Punky.

Living in Denial

Let me count the ways....

I was washing the girls' clothes this weekend and huffed when I had used up every last hanger in the closet.  Rummaging through Deuce's I saw loads of things that just didn't belong.  Newborn onesies & dresses, 3 month rompers....I mean, I've known that it's been long overdue to weed through but had no idea we had this much overflow.
My baby is growing so fast. ::insert sad face here::

Then we have another that wants to revert.

Then reality hits when you realize your babe is content gnawing on carrots.  Where have the past 7 months gone?  I cringe at the thought that she will really be 7 months next week.  I keep thinking if I avoid blogging about her growth that she will stop altogether.  One can only hope, right?  I can't believe my baby is getting so big.  I'm going to miss her being so small.

Gaaaaahhhh, I love that face.
