school is here

Preschool year 2.

She keeps telling me that she's going to be starting kindergarten soon.  It doesn't feel like it but if time continues to fly the way it has been, she's absolutely right.

The obligatory shot in front of the front door.  Remember how little she looked last year?

New school year calls for a new lunchie.  Whooo is getting so big?  Hardee-har-har.

Those Cons are really "go-fasters" and make her run super fast on the play yard!

Little sis wanted in on the action.  Can you see hear her saying cheeeeeese?

....and this one makes me laugh my ass off.  Both their personalities are shining through here.  Plus, F is going to wring my neck for parading such a lady-like pose to all my peers....
schoolday2 least she can laugh at herself.

Happy new school year, all!

it was rainbow party

Pinterest was my go to for birthday party inspiration.  You can see all those here

Pinterest pros?  Great inspiration for all things across the interwebz.
Pinterest cons?  The largest time suck ever AND I have boards of ideas and things that will never come to fruition.

The rainbow party is something I can check off that list.  I had so much fun shopping ideas that actually came to life.

These table skirts were a total PITA (pain in the a$$, for those not in the know).  The tutorials I found via Pinterest were made with fabric and I don't have the time for that.  What am I going to do with ruffly rainbow colored tableskirts after the rainbow party was over?  Holler to 99 cent store vinyl table cloths and a hot glue gun.  Thankfully, I've already have my fingerprints registered via LiveScan because I burnt off most of them though the process.  Not too shabby and disposable, right?

rainbow snacks.

I didn't post this one.  You know, the mirror I used to take all my bump pictures in?  Shattered.
great coloring project for the kiddies, too.

the smash cake that nearly went untouched.
A sweet, sweet friend of ours made the cakes for us.  I'm not much of a baker or cake eater.

snip snip

If you recall, it took about 2 years and 11 months to get F's hair cut for the first time.  Deuce is a smidge over 1 year and she already had business in the front, party in the back.  So off to the stylist (read: cheap kids dresser) we went.
Obviously, neither kid has any significant amount of hair to rid of.  When the kind lady with the scissors asked what she was to do with F's hair.  I got nothin' but a blank stare when I explained that F wants to grow her hair like Rapunzel.  After a few seconds, I awkwardly smiled and told her to clean it up.  Deuce, on the other hand, is growing locks at an incredible clip.  Those little blond curls were shaping early stages of a mullet.  Another blank stare and a "just clean it up, please."

We have a couple bad asses on our hands.  These girls kicked the shit out of the two cry baby boys that were in there before and after us.  Those little buggers needed to sit on their Daddy's lap to get their hair done.  Ha! Not us.  Take that silly boys...

Watch Me Grow: Deuce 1 Year

Surprise, surprise look who's posting this picture 1.5 months late?

The picture was in real time....but to stick with the theme of this blog as of late, I didn't post it.  Soo anticlimactic after a year of pictures, don'tcha think?

Here she is in all her 1 year glory (imagine you seeing this when she actually turned one).

She is the cutest and I love her to pieces.

hair did

super fuzzy pic from my phone but this is what the morning routine now entails.

F: "Hurry sister!  Come sit down so I can do your hair for school."
Deuce:  ::inaudible:: dadadada  ::sits down::
F:  "Okay.  Do you want your hair curly?"
Deuce: ::inaudible::
F:  "Almost done!"
Deuce:  ::claps and waves arms::

And we're dressed and off to school.

so big!

We took the girls to an early dinner the other evening.  When I mean early, I mean like 4:45PM.  Peeps aren't even off work at that hour. haha.  Obviously, we had the place to ourselves.  We decided to *get crazy* and let them sit on the same side of the table together.  Aren't you jealous?  This is pushing the envelope right now.  The hubs turned and looked at me after we ordered and said, "hello. I haven't seen you on this side of the table in ages."  It was refreshing to be able to snag a bite or two from his plate again.  He always orders the goooood stuff.

Look who's so big!

F hardly looks amused...but Deuce is still into it.

pink nails

So this little one has been beggggggging to have her nails painted for quite awhile.  I have been on the fence as to "what age is appropriate" to paint her nails.  Now that she is a big 3 (and almost half) year old, I couldn't hold her off at the pass much longer.  For a few weeks I had said, "we'll do it tomorrow" and then she'd forget.  Then four days later, "Mommy, can you paint my nails today?"  The hubs and I were at Urban checking in and found some amazing hot pink polish.  I knew it would be the perfect surprise when we picked her up from school.

I don't think she liked it.  Do you?

Aaand the toes?  Pure 3 year old heaven.

the best part of painting 3 year old nails is that even I couldn't screw them up.

My Day in Laguna.......

My Day in Laguna.......

One. Two.

Just futzing around with links from the work blog.  I spent about 4.5 hours reformatting ish today.  If you have a few minutes, let me know what you think.

what a difference a year makes

I was just cruising through old vids and saw this:

In less than 1 year we got this:

Coming to after a sleep deprived haze of the first year, I am super thankful for technology so I can remember the bitty's little guttural coos.  There's no way not to love every moment that has passed and the girls at each stage of their grand entrance to where we stand today.

let's slide

Summertime has found us taking almost daily evening jaunts either on the bikes or walks to the park.

Heeeeeeeere's Deucie.
Finding her way...
F showing off her climbing skillz.
Hey Mommy, can sister go down with me?
Sure!  She can sit on your lap.  Now hold on tight.
The hubs and I bolted.

Thankfully, lil sis made it down the slide safe and sound.
